Jay Bates, the renowned woodworker, comes up with another amazing tutorial. In this sketchup tutorial Jay show you through step-by-step methods how to obtain high resolution images for 2d drafting by exporting 2d image in sketchup. There is a built in exporter in sketchup that facilitates to save the existing view of your model in a diverse image formats. But in order to make the process faster, one can use ScreenHunter to generate an image of sketchup model.

To create this tutorial, Jay uses the following shortcuts:
  • Ctrl = adds a copy command to the move and rotate commands
  • Q = rotate
  • R = rectangle
  • T = tape measure
  • D = dimension (this is a custom keyboard shortcut I set and is not included by default)
  • M = move
  • Space Bar = selection command
  • Triple Click = when triple clicking a piece of model space geometry it selects everything in model space that is connected to that item
  • Double Click On Component = enters component edit mode
  • G = Turns selected model space geometry into a component
  • CUSTOM SHORTCUTS:
  • H = Hide
  • U = Unhide all
