SketchUp to Sketchfab.com Uploader – An Exclusive SketchUp Extension

Alex Schreyer, the senior lecturer at the at the University of Massachusetts, develops SketchUp to Sketchfab.com Uploader. This sketchup extension supports SketchUp 8, SketchUp 2013, SketchUp 2014, SketchUp 2015, SketchUp 2016 as well as Mac OS X, Windows.

This plugin will streamline the process for distributing interactive 3D content from sketchup to sketchfab. Sketchfab belongs to a simplified website where one can upload 3d models and demonstrate them through WebGL.

As the primary upload file format is COLLADA, so it becomes easier for SketchUp users to upload their work there (the DAE and KMZ export format is indigenously supported in both the free and Pro version of SketchUp).

Once the plugin is set up, there will be a menu item “Upload to Sketchfab” to the File menu in SketchUp. The sketchup users have to register on the sketchfab website prior to upload their models. After that they will be provided with a “secret API key” that connects their uploaded models to their account. The API key will be available on the personal dashboard of the users once the registration will be completed.

After uploading any model, one can edit parameters and materials, capture a thumbnail or fine-tune the default view on the Sketchfab website.

Usage
Go to File > Upload to Sketchfab to transfer your model to the cloud. Ensure you have obtained your API token from the Sketchfab website.

This sketchup extension is also available on GitHub.

Disney has developed an augmented reality coloring book App to provide a 3d animated view of your drawing through augmented reality technology

Disney has introduced an augmented reality coloring book App that can be used to map color in real-time out of a 2D coloring book onto a animated 3D model. The users can give color to any character in a printed coloring book and review their work via a mobile gadget. The users can view the colored character go around in augment reality 3d space on top of the page.

The sketch is recognized and addressed, and the video stream is augmented through an animated 3-D version of the character that is textured based on the given color. There is a texturing method that uses the captured texture out of a 2-D colored drawing to both the seeable and occluded regions concerning a 3-D character in real time. There exist a deformable surface tracking system intended for colored drawings that applies a new outlier rejection algorithm for real-time tracking and surface deformation restoration. The 2d and 3d content can be generated through a content creation pipeline.

Every single character in the coloring book is generated in 3D modeling software and animated. Afterward, every surface pixel on the model is attributed a equivalent pixel space on the 2D image in the coloring book.

Sketchfab and Fule3D make joint venture for publishing 3D Model in Web

Now if you are an expert designer, you can upload your 3D model to websites.
How? If you ask, the answer is, the brand new Sketchfab and Fuel3D is bringing this opportunity to the budding modellers all the way.

The Fuel3D has prepared a 3D scanner – which itself can be activated holding in hand. It also has some important features, likewise: gives a variation of high-resolution colour, shape and capture different 3D modeling apps.

There are some game developing apps are there. The 3D scanner can produce exact model of human body.

Fuel3D can merge pre-calibrated stereo camera with photometric picture for capturing 3D model within seconds. This firm is dedicated to make sophisticated 3D scanner and 3D system.

This scanner was primarily prepared for the health image taking purpose. But later it was taken to the market.

Ron Daniel, a professor of Engineering Science, Oxford University made this technology. Fuel3D has many technocrats, scientists and engineers as their employees.

Stuart Mead, the CEO was a great fun raiser. He raised around $300,000 by campaign. Later windfall happened their in this company. Private investments were on the way to here. The distribution and retail partners’ were signed in across the globe.

There is an option ‘publish to sketchfab’ in the Fuel3D scanner – used for editing and viewing doing something with Fuel3D studio.

The online publication like Sketchfab is one of the best known for 3D model. The CEO of Sketchfab, Alban Denoyel also expressed happiness. Denoyel feels interested people want a plat form which can help to grow viewing and sharing the 3D content.
