SketchUp for Planners & architects - A 39 minutes introductory course with video

The course is designed for planners and architects to learn how they characterize three-dimensional objects in two-dimensions involving step-by-step tutoring for generating and applying simple 3D models. The course will be very useful for beginner level.

Chapter 1 - Introduction (1:56m)
With this chapter get a detailed synopsis of the course focusing on what you will discover and why the course is essential. Get introduced with SketchUp and come to know how it provides huge benefits to planners and architects.

Chapter 2 - Getting Started (5:42m)
Be trained how to start with SketchUp by downloading the program, setting the preferences, and navigating around the user interface.

Chapter 3 - Thinking in Three Dimensions (4:55m)
Have some experience on how planners and architects express the 3D world in two dimensions, applying a simple model of a house as for instance.

Chapter 4 - Drawing in Sketchup (6:04m)
Gather knowledge on how to draw with SketchUp by creating simple model of a house. Go through with step-by-step guidances on how to apply the primary drawing functions along with the Line, Rectangle, and Push/Pull tools.

Chapter 5 - Drawing Auto-Functions (2:47m)
Get familiar with the auto-functions of SketchUp that focuses on how the midpoint and endpoint functions are executed, how parallel lines of equal length are generated as well as how to sketch on a face while preparing the simple model of a house.

Chapter 6 - Drawing Repeated Elements (9:20m)
Get introduced with time-saving functions of SketchUp as well as making and revising groups and components. Also learn how to apply the Move, Copy, Past, Scale and Rotate tools.

Chapter 7 - Drawing More Complicated Forms (5:53m)
Be familiar with drawing arcs, circles and other complex forms at the time of a model of a bike rack.

Chapter 8 - Final Touches (2:56m)
Learn how to provide the final touches on your model along with inserting labels and dimensions. Also know how to export and print 2D images from your model.
