The VFX Festival 2013

This year’s VFX festival will be held on 4-13 November at Vue Cinema, Leicester Square, London. The event will focus on the latest tools, people and thoughts that are the parts and parcel of the visual effects. There will be gathering of the next generation of visual effects talent with some big industry players. They will unveil their best-kept secrets as well as most remarkable works along with an exclusive VFX screening of Gravity.

The event will continue for 10 days and consist of debate, knowledge-sharing and networking. The event is ideal for those people who want to make a striking career in VFX industry.

The event will also contain special screenings, VFX breakdowns, talks, showreel demos, premieres and interactive workshops. Be involved in a special inventive study of Gravity, of one of this year’s biggest intergalactic 3D thrillers.

The workshop will come up with behind-the-scenes industry masterclasses on the advanced tools applied to produce jaw-dropping effects. The listings consist of speeches from well-known VFX Supervisor Alex Pejic (Inception, Total Recall) who will present his expert insights concerning the feature film White House Down starring Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx. The most talented VFX Supervisor Hugh MacDonald (Skyfall, Hugo) will be showing the effects and techniques applied in Kick Ass 2 featuring Aaron Taylor-Johnson; as well as Cinesite’s Eamonn Butler (Iron Man 2, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix).

There will be an unique one-off panel debate held on Wednesday 13th November. Experts belong to the visual effects and film industry will join hand to hand with educational leaders to explain the New trend of Digital Creativity. The panel will involve Saint John Walker from Creative Skillset, Samantha Perahia from the British Film Comission, Anthony Hunt from Cinesite, and Oscar winner and CEO at Framestore - Sir William Sargent, along with Pat Joseph, CCO (Chief Creative Officer) of leading VFX studio The Mill.
