Angular Dimension in SketchUp

SketchUp stores the most needed application to design some serious works. SketchUp users often face difficulties in inserting an angle correctly to the design. Angular dimension helps you measure the right angle. This content brings out the easiest way to put an angle with maintaining accuracy. The easy yet effective tool in SketchUp maps everything related to an angle dimension for you. Steve Baumgartner introduced Angular Dimensions for SketchUp users with adding essential aspects needed for adding the right angle to your design. The content deals with tips to add inner and outer angular dimensions to your design. It also discusses a few questions regarding this tool.

Angular dimension:

It is an extension that you need to install first. As the name said, it defines angles of your model. To activate the extension, choose the option angular dimension from the tools menu.

Angular dimension in 3D design comes up with an array of complexities. Steve tried his best to eliminate existing problems and offered an understandable approach that helps you know inner and outer dimensions.

To draw an angle, you need to choose three points in your design – the first end, the end point and the second end. The angular dimension shoes you the angle of your chosen area with a leader text. For toggling between inner and outer dimensions, use TAB button.

Generally queries related to SketchUp Angular dimension tools:

Many users complain that SketchUp Angular dimension tool is missing. They must understand that it is not a built-in tool and they have to install the plugin to use. For this, please check https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=draw_angle_dim

This tool comes under the features of marking dimensions in SketchUp. Whenever you need to mark a distance and angle in your model, linear dimension and angular dimension prove to be very useful.

A guide to create an Angular Dimensions:

It follows a few steps to design an angle. Details are mentioned below:

. When the tool is in active, click a point that makes an angle. On hovering the cursor over the line, you will find On Line or On Point interference. A dash blue line will appear when you click the point.
2. Click the angle’s vertex to create a one-half of the angle. See Callout 1.
3. Click the point that creates the other half of the angle.
4. On moving the cursor to the angle’s vertex, a blue dash line will appear. When the line crosses the first line, a hollow point is created that defines angle’s vertex. Callout 2.
5. Click the angle vertex to create an angular dimension.
6. Move the cursor from the vertex area to the direction of the angle you measure.
7. Click to measure the angular dimension. Callout 3.

The information above helps you know how to measure angular dimension of your SketchUp design. it needs your creative part of your designing.

Brief overview of displacement map in v-ray for sketchup

This is an exclusive tutorial on V-Ray for SketchUp 3.4 beta where one can learn how to apply displacement feature in V-ray for Sketchup.
The displacement feature allows you to deform a geometry with the help of an image. Deformation will work best and will be maximum for white images and for black images it will not work. The image should always be grayscale.
The major usages of the displacement in V-Ray for SketchUp can be found in lawns, stone gables, apparent masonry, carpets.
Displacement facilitates the users to reproduce the texture of a surface with the use of a black and white image to define the changeable height of the surface.
Displacement truly generates the geometry that is defined by the image. It is performed by subdividing a specified piece of geometry and modifying the individual heights of all of the faces on the basis of the image that it is explaining. The outcome is a surface that provides a much more precise and accurate result.

How to include Displacement: The users may apply their current bump maps as displacement maps. In the Maps rollout of the material options there exist an option for Displacement. Allow displacement by ticking the check box on the left, and continue to tick on the "m" for the inclusion of a displacement map. Though the textures are applied for displacement maps in several cases, it is likely to include a displacement map through the procedural mapping.

How to make your sketchup rendering superior by adding self glow with arielvision

DutchSims4Master comes with another useful video presentation that shows some tricks for adding self-glow in sketchup with Arielvision.

ArielVision is a cost-effective and user-friendly rendering package that can transform your rendering quality to the next level.

ArielVision applies sun, sky, shadows, lights, transparency and reflections to generate photorealistic renderings out of any SketchUp models efficiently.

By applying a simple dialog, ArielVision can set properties on SketchUp materials like reflections, and offers a Wizard to produce various common lights. Several high quality renderings are formed with a single button click without making any modifications to the model slightly.

ArielVision can render the scene with different types of rendering passes as necessary. (Rendering passes apply extra lighting samples from the sun, sky, and lights to produce smoother shadows and more convincing effects. Primarily, at the learning stage, a limit of 40 passes can be used. Later, the number of passes can be raised according to your choice.

ArielVision describes material properties and rendering settings within SketchUp and saves them in your SketchUp model. You can generate and view the rendering with a simple mouse click.

How to use Auto Reflection feature to render a sketchup model

Go through the following sketchup video tutorial to learn how to use Auto Reflection rendering feature in IRender nXt to save significant time in rendering any sketchup model.

Auto Reflection makes materials becomes reflective through Auto Reflection feature as it applies an equivalent word pattern method in the material name. The reflection values toward intensity, sharpness, index of refraction, and bump are arranged previously, so reflection values for materials should not be arranged separately.

As for instance, it is possible to stipulate that all material names equivalent to the pattern "steel" will be 90% reflective and metallic.

Any allocated materials having names which equal to the list of patterns, and for which particular reflection values are not already arranged, will render through the previously defined reflection values from Auto Reflection.

(If you already arrange reflection values for an assigned material, your settings will supersede the Auto Material settings.)
