AOS (1.0.0) for SketchUp

However, according to media reports, all this is just another social media hoax. Actually, nine digit numbers do not exist in India. Nine digit numbers exist in foreign countries and if Indian number receive such calls then it will be prefixed with a country code.

The plugin is compatible with SketchUp 2016, SketchUp 2017, SketchUp 2018, SketchUp 2019.

Rafael Rivera has developed AOS, an exclusive sketchup plugin to produce false ambient occlusion within sketchup with the use of several colors for concave and convex edges which can be adjusted in material editor. By default, the concave material is dark to transform the edge similar to a shadow and the convex edges are painted white to provide a highlight effect.
As soon as the tool is turned on, all the convex edges are concealed but another tool button is arranged to simply switch concealed geometry on and off in order that the convex edges can be concealed according to your choice.
Besides, three pages are produced containing several edge widths in order that the users can select their favorite one.
The plugin is available in extension warehouse extensions.sketchup.com.
To get online demonstration, go through the following link.

"11 easy to use & helpful SketchUp Plugins ”

SketchUp Warehouse is full of different useful extensions that are used in modeling in SketchUp by users but there are 11 extensions which are used frequently.

About Extension Warehouse: It is an online resource with various plug-ins developed made especially for SketchUp and these extensions help to add some special tools and features to SketchUp. These extensions can be found for any particular application like drawing or 3D printing and some industry specified tools for architecture, interior design, construction and many more. So basically in this Extension Warehouse people can do the following things:

  • Users can search extensions by name or as per the functionality.
  • They can also install various extensions with a single click of a button.
  • Or users can also control all the extensions from easy-to-use location in the My Extension page.
The organization named Fat Pencil Studio uses SketchUp for their all works and among all the other benefits of SketchUp, the plugins which are generally known as SketchUp extensions make the work so great to do. There are lots of extensions or plugins in SketchUp which are used for different reasons and works but the team has chosen 11 great plugins which are best to use for their vast FPS toolbox.

This article will cover the plugins and their functions; the plugins or extensions are: Selection Toys, Selection Memory, Weld, Eneroth Camera Memory, Fredo Scale, Architect Tools, Dropgc, Zorro, Wire Tool, Instant Terrain and Loose to Groups.

  • Selection toys: Selection toys is a vital extension for all modelers and for any kind of modeling that allows the users to filter objects in and out of a previous selection. Users can both select and deselect only edges, groups, components or entities that have particular properties such as hidden, soft or smooth etc. the people of Fat pencil Studio, use this extension very much in a variety of ways like for hiding bounding edges, optionally applying materials and more.
  • Selection Memory: This extension helps users in remembering the selections made in SketchUp so people will not miss any selection for any model or size.
  • Weld: This extension adds the loose edges into a soft curve that can be selected in one click; Fat Pencil Studio uses this tool to prevent extra popping up edges while working with Push/Pull tool on traced geometry. Actually much long arrays will need an extra application of the extension and Weld is expert on this.
  • Eneroth Camera Memory: This is a wonderful extension that captures camera views from one model to another allowing remembering the users easily; basically it is a great idea while working between versions of models and wants to copy scenes. When the both models remain opened, it captures the view from the first model and choose “Put to Memory” option and in the working model, users can select “Retrieve from memory” to bring up the view.
  • Fredo Scale: It helps to sale normally with the help of native tools in SketchUp.
  • Architect Tools: This is a set of tools that comes in easy working on large models with buildings and terrain while the “flatten selection” tool helps to tracing the edges easily. There are two more tools like the “Contour Tool” and the “Project Down Tool”.
  • DROPGC: It is a shortcut for dropping objects to a contoured surface and DropGC will create the PathCopy extension and fall cleanly onto a piece of terrain.
  • ZORRO: It is a wonderful tool to cut the fat and makes it easy to chop off geometry around the edges of the model which don’t need to enter into components.
  • Wire Tool: It works greatly on drawing catenary curves.
  • Instant Terrain: It hangs a continuous, triangulated surface over everything; selecting into surface and using Selection Toys will garb the lines only.
  • Loose to Groups: This helps to gain the geometry by ungrouping it and organizing it in something useful.

PNG Trees in 3D Warehouse

SketchUp is one of the most used software for 3D modeling and design tools across the world and SketchUp team works with a motto that is “SketchUp for everyone”. From their beginning they are continuously working to give their users better, smarter and successful experience to work with SketchUp and they have published so many tools that will be useful for designing and modeling. As a result of their constant improvement now-a-days it has been using by hundreds of thousands of architects, engineers, contractors, woodworkers, artists and other people from different various fields. They are working on SketchUp Pro, LayOut, Extension Warehouse and the 3D Warehouse for designing each and every little object from motion centers to treehouses and many more.

About SketchUp 3D Warehouse: The SketchUp 3D Warehouse is a wonderful part of SketchUp and popular among the SketchUp users where anyone can find various 3D models. It is generally an open source library where SKetchUp users can work on models, upload it there and also download various uploaded models for sharing with clients, teammates etc. The models can be easily downloaded into any program without saving in the computer, the file sizes of the models should be up to 50 MB and these models can also make, change and upload in the 3D Warehouse without any charge.

The models with the help of 3D Warehouse look lively and users can get various pre made objects here that can be easily applicable in any model like plants, trees, people, sun, moon, building etc. Here the modeling of PNG Trees is described with a scene of a beautiful cottage.

Verkley Design and Modeling has created a wonderful model of a lovely small cottage in the woods with full of trees and uploaded it in the 3D Warehouse. Users can download this model by clicking on the logo of the 3D warehouse or can use it in any other model having the same features. In the model, the trees can easily grab anyone’s attention as they are so well designed and furnished. The structures are made with simple group and components, except that they use photo painting than just modeling the individual leaf. These trees are more efficient and helpful to design any model rather than the original and large 3D trees.

To see the painted faces navigate around the model on the slower machines and using Monochrome view individual painted faces will appear that can help to understand the original technique of modeling the trees. For the big trees with the texture of lot of leaves they used the Shaded tool with Texture view and used a lot of painted faces at every angle with a transparent background.

Besides this model, there are lots of different tree models are also available at the 3D Warehouse library that can apply in the models. In case anyone want to use little trees, plants or shrubs to reduce the file size they can try some Face-Camera trees from the 3D Warehouse. In the place of PNG trees there are some other model trees can be a replacement of it that will give the model same look; such as Alpha Tree or Transparent Tree which are single, flat and printed faces.

Face-Camera Component: In the above part we have seen that the tree models can be made in Face-Camera tool rather than downloading the created models. The Verkley Design and Modeling team has worked with the tool in another model to make some trees; at first they take a model tree with a transparent background. Users can find the tree background from Google Images go there and search for “alpha transparent tree”.

Now choose one from the list of the trees; just right click on the required tree and choose one of the saving options and save it in the PNG format. After choosing team go back to SketchUp again and chose the File/Import option and imported as an image from the PNG files. Then they just clicked on the two corners for bringing the image as per size and worked from the front view and then orbit the image for furnished ending.

It is not the end, there were some fixes that need to done correctly, the tree has to make with groups and components. Users can do it easily by click the right button of the mouse to explode it and then it will become a component by selecting the image and edges. Next the axes box has to check to complete the component and it is very important for face-camera to work as the red axis menu has to go with the image and the blue one has to go up.

Also check the Face Camera box to complete the process and click on the Create menu to finish the works.

SketchUp to VR in 10 seconds

This article is about the new SketchUp tool VR that is a very useful helping hand for the science fiction fans and have some really great features. But it works on SketchUp’s latest versions. Here is some information about the working process in VR. Here are also some reviews about the working features of VR; it is a smart simple and useful tool. The getting process, the inside view all are described here for the readers.

VR or Virtual Reality has been a dream of science fiction fans for decades and at last it has appeared. It is mainly a multi-sensory computer simulated visual environment which allows users to immerse themselves and interact with 3D worlds. Innovates from all over industries are now using this technology for telling stories and taking users on a far away adventure. SketchUp is one of the world’s well known popular 3D modeling programs. There is a wide variety of industries here like architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and film and product design. They all are depended on the program for bringing their ideas to life. For viewing SketchUp models, right hardware and prospect is necessary.

Getting Ready to Go Into VR: At first check that the file can be viewed in Prospect, as VR only works in SketchUP 2014-2017 and also check if there is the accurate geolocation set in the file. Actually Geolocation in SketchUp is for informing the ability for adjusting Sun Settings in VR and perfect asses glare and shadows that casts from the natural light entering in the place. For viewing different scenes in the model or jumping between different rooms always make sure to have a number of clearly named Scenes set up as well. In the next step, configure the workstation for the virtual reality by checking that the headset is either an HTC Vive or Oculus Rift and then open the Prospect in the desktop. After opening the prospect, drag and drop a SketchUp file into the dropzone or find and upload the file by simply clicking the “Browse” option. After the file get selected, click the “Launch” option and for going to VR is ready.

Inside the 3D model: After entering the VR the first thing will appear that the loaded model is in front in the Scale Model Mode. There one can rotate, scale and section their model for better view in the enclosed areas. By pressing the menu button on the controller for toggling on tooltips while in VR the user and clients both get familiarized with the various features. To enter in the models inside at 1:1 scale, select “Navigate” on the menu for teleporting you in. after entering one can explore the model and begin the mesmerizing review.
In- Vr Tools for Immersive Review: There are many tools available for helping to produce actionable next steps and valuable design insights from the users time spent on reviewing the model in-VR.

• Sun Settings: This tool use the actual geolocation that you have set up in the original Sketchup file for displaying the accurate lightning and shadows. By adjusting the time and date it allows user for making informed decisions about windows, lighting and to do shadow studies.
• Viewpoints: They are like the camera views that are located within the model. It is a best way to walk a client or colleague through a project by creating a solid narrative about the space. Prospect uses Scenes from SketchUp for creating Viewpoints. These viewpoints can be navigated between from both scale Model Mode and in the model.
• Layers: It can be advantaged to easily and effectively showcase the various design options, material combinations or can also walk through fully different layouts. The associated layers with groups can be automatically pulled into Prospect from SketchUp. By turning of the visibility the layers will be kept off.

SketchUp Inferences Position the 3D Model Accurately

SketchUp Inferences in SketchUp make you understand where you design your model. The color lines will appear as soon as you create a new file in SketchUp. These lines are the best to keep your model at the right place you want. It is always advisable to use the color lines while working on the SketchUp as they eliminate the need for typing commands for adjusting the position of the model. You need to work in the intended color direction, and you must align your object with the drawing axes of SketchUp.

Inferences: When you design 3D models in SketchUp, many features appear in the form of color squares, dotted lines, yellow tags, and other objects of this kind. These features are called together as SketchUp inference engine. To design a model accurately and quickly, you have to understand each feature elaborately and its usage.

Point Inferences: Point inferences tell you about different things of your design, they guide you how to add or change details of the models. If you move the cursor on the working window of the SketchUp, you will definitely be introduced with different colored shapes. If you stay on those shapes for a second, a yellow tag will appear explaining the definition of the color spot you put the cursor on. Here is the list of various point inferences and their meaning.

• Green – endpoint
• Cyan or light blue – midpoint
• Black – intersection
• Red – on edge
• A circle, green – centre
• Dark Blue – on face

In SketchUp, two basic elements that everyone should know about are – edges (lines) and faces (surfaces). To design efficiently on the SketchUp, you have a comprehensive idea about these two features first.

Linear Inference: Colors definitely play a very important role in your designing in the SketchUp. Linear inferences also help a designer draw a 3D model precisely and perfectly. These linear inferences are also called ‘help lines’ as they play a big role defining your object. Below are the descriptions of the work of linear inferences.

• On Axis – If the edge you draw is parallel to one of the three drawing axes of SketchUp, the edge takes the color of that particular drawing axe.
• From Point – When you are moving a cursor in the SketchUp, a colored, dotted line appear that tells you are lined up with the end point of the dotted line. The color of the From Point will automatically change as per the color of the axes it corresponds with.
• Perpendicular – the edge you are drawing must be perpendicular to another edge of the design. Your drawn edge will be colored in magenta.
• Parallel – If the edge you are sketching becomes parallel to another edge of your model, the drawn edge turns into magenta.
• Tangent at Vertex – this idea comes into the application when you are drawing an arc that starts at the end point of another arc. When your drawn arc is the tangent of another arc, it turns into cyan.

SketchUp inferences engine defines the basics of the 3D designing, without which your object does not take the expected form. The use of these applications is more than the usual.

Bezier Surfaces from Curves – The newest sketchup extension

Jacob Samuel has developed Bezier Surfaces from Curves. It is the newest sketchup extension that is compatible with SketchUp 2015, SketchUp 2016, SketchUp 2017.

The extension is used to generate and edit different types of Bezier surfaces out of Bezier curves, arcs, circles and lines.

This extension includes a toolbar and items to the Draw as well as Right Mouse Button Context menus with tools to produce Ruled Rectangle, Translational Rectangle, Coons Rectangle, Ruled Triangle and Coons Triangle rational Bezier surfaces out of bounding non-rational and rational Bezier curves, arcs, circles and lines.

The types of surfaces to be produced (availability of the tools) are based on the number of curves chosen and provided that they allocate common endpoints.

As soon as the surface is generated, the tools will assign you into the editing tool for the surface drawn afresh. If required, the surface is edited according to your choice by shifting the points or lines of the resultant control net or modifying the "weights" of the control points.

Inferencing can be accessed if a control point or line is shifted along with inference locking with the Shift key. If you press the Esc key throughout a move, the surface will be reset to the way it was prior to the starting of move./p>

With the purpose of modifying the weight of a non-end control point, hover the cursor over the control point for which the weight should be altered in order that it is featured in green, put the new weight you prefer for it, devoid of moving the cursor ahead of the control point, and press enter or return to affect the shape of the surface.

Afterward, choosing an obtainable Bezier surface drawn/edited with these tools and applying Edit Rational Bezier Surface or Edit Bezier Triangle in the Right Mouse Button Context menu will also activate the editing tool for the chosen surface.

Eneroth Visual Merge – The newest skethup plugin

Eneroth3 has developed Eneroth Visual Merge. It is an exclusive sketchup plugin available in extension warehouse.
The plugin is compatible with sketchup 2016 and sketchup 2017.
Disguise the connection among groups/components where they connect. The plugin is ideal for disposing of those unwanted edges among a slab and a wall.
Combines groups/components visually by disguising the edges and faces where they meet keeping their shape as it is. Different from solid operation, these modifications are only cosmetic on the surface. The significance of the original geometry (e.g. what is a slab and what is a wall) is sustained and the visual mix is reset with some simple mouse clicks.
Different from solid operations, all groups and components are supported, regardless of they are solid or not.
The plugin only influences geometry that remains loosely in a group/components and avoids nested group/components. You can disguise the seam among a wall and a slab devoid of considering windows that exists in within the wall group.

This sketchup plugin is very user-friendly. Just choose the lines or edges to be rounded off and apply the three modes.
